The HOLY GRAIL of the GoPro Lens Repellent - Electrowetting!

Want to keep your lens clear? Well the solution is almost with us. 

For years we have supplied the best in hydrophobic products to help passively keep your GoPro Lens clear of drops and dirt. But even the most hydrophobic surface will leave small stubborn drops. 

This has been a challenge for us since day one - but we have discovered the answer: Electrowetting on dielectric (EWOD) - a hydrophobic dielectric layer with a transparent electrode. Sounds complicated right?

How does it work?

A new technology called Micro-fludics (also known as lab-on-a-chip). By applying a voltage between the droplet and an underlying transparent electrode we can control the water drops movement. You heard us right - we can physically pull the water drop off the lens!

The only negative to this technology is the need to carry the battery -in particular a 60V battery. However, with such small energy required a full battery would be expected to last up to one week per charge. 

We imagine the battery would pulse the voltage in order to regularly and automatically clear the GoPro lens of all drops and dirt.
